About My Clients
My clients are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and identity development. Most of my clients have a history of trauma and experience self-judgement and self -doubt. My clients tend to feel held back in some area of their life, often exacerbated by oppressive systems within our society. I help clients to build their self-esteem and foster understanding and empathy. With compassion, I help clients cope with stressors and assist them in building a more meaningful life.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic style is eclectic and tailored to my client’s unique experience and personal goals for therapy. I provide a warm and relational approach blending humanistic, person-centered, depth psychology, and mindfulness based-practices. I view therapy as a collaborative process with room for creativity. I emphasize inclusion and affirmation specifically of women, people of color, LGBTQIA + communities, socio-economically vulnerable individuals, and other marginalized groups. I believe my clients have the capacity to live their best lives and I act as an empathetic vessel on their journey of self-discovery. I seek to compassionately reach client’s unconscious levels of family, community, and cultural trauma, helping to reconnect individuals with themselves, and improve overall mental health. I enjoy being a part of such a transformational process, and forming genuine connections with each of my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was drawn to therapy for the immense need for healing in the world, and have been amazed at the resilience and capacity that people have to grow. I believe that healing and love transcends the individual and ultimately has the power to heal the collective. I think therapy involves humility and a willingness as a therapist to constantly seek spaces to learn and examine our own biases and areas for growth. I believe it is necessary to see and hear from more marginalized voices, as well as understand the systemic issues that impact communities, and our work. As a singer and performer myself, I believe in finding moments to connect to those creative and authentic parts of ourselves. I believe that all people should have access to security and acceptance and a therapeutic space of sensitivity and non-judgement.
