About My Clients
As a therapist my role is to create a safe space to explore the self, our relationships, and to heal the wounds that hold us back from living a full life. My specialties include working with teens and young adults. I believe these years provide a valuable time to assist clients in building upon their strengths, working on positive communication skills, and helping to develop healthy coping strategies.
My Background and Approach
Every person deserves a space to process feelings and emotions. As your therapist, I promise to create a safe space for you to be free to come as you are — to help you grow into the most authentic version of you. My work is focused on pairing mindfulness with other evidence-based tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients achieve their goals. Bachelor’s degree: Education and Sociology, Oakland University. Master’s Degree: Counseling, Oakland University. OU is a CACREP program which means they are held to rigorous standards when training future clinicians. I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. I am also a Licensed School Counselor (SCL). This background provides me with additional expertise in working with adolescents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe in a simple idea: love and compassion for all. I believe in fostering a climate of purposeful inclusion of all people. I value the diversity of racial and cultural identity and background, size diversity, nationality, sexual and affectional orientation, gender identity and its expression, religious background and belief, marital status, family structure, age, mental and physical health and ability, political perspective, and educational and class status. I value the way each of these areas contribute to the fiber of what makes you, YOU. And I think that’s pretty incredible.
