How I Can Help You
I work from an anti-racist, queer, sex-positive, kink aware, body-positive, and trauma-informed stance. I draw from many therapeutic orientations and influences, including attachment theory, social constructionism, somatic therapy, and neuroscience. At heart, however, I am gestalt therapist. In a nutshell, this means that I hold dear the principles of curiosity, awareness, inter-dependence, and self-responsibility. I help clients notice what they’re doing, how they’re doing it, and how they can move towards where they want to be, while bringing full acceptance to the here and now.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we’re all dynamic beings, capable of change and accepting change. We’re the experts in our own lives, compelled by an infinity contradictions, and subject to inner and outer forces that shape our lives. The mental health system has caused irreparable harm. I work hard to contextualize my work through the lens of curiosity, anti-capitalism, abolition, and social justice. I am body, sex and kink positive, and I believe parenting is political. I believe that therapy can be an intimate, rugged, sometimes slow, sometimes hold on to your hats folks ride, towards the reclamation of our bodies, our imagination, our gentleness, and our pleasure. When I’m not being a therapist, I am a parent, a reader, a yogi, a morning person, a coffee drinker, and a Capricorn Sun.
