About My Clients
If you just took a break from social media to visit this site then I applaud you. Step one, check. The majority of my clients are dealing with anxiety and/or depression. I have carved a niche working with clients struggling with an eating disorder, infertility, postpartum depression and relationships/marriages. With regard to the latter I work with couples wanting to reconnect, needing help with parenting as a team, and/or working on bettering their communication skills.
My Background and Approach
After working in NYC for 10 years, I am now establishing a practice in CA.I began my psychology career managing a research lab for eating disorder at UCLA, followed by getting my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy at USC. As I moved through my career, I began working more broadly with those experiencing anxiety and depression (because let's face it, who among us can't relate). I also developed specialties for areas mentioned above such as anxiety related to being a new parent, weight/eating issues, and relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You may often look around you (or actually at your social media account) and think everyone seems like they are enjoying life, so what's wrong with you. The answer is nothing. Anxiety and depression are are often hidden in shame and behind fake smiles. If you are facing challenges in your mental health, want to improve your self-esteem, manage an eating disorder, become a better parent or partner and are reading this, then it's a good sign you are ready to make changes. The act of reaching out can already help you feel less lonely and more hopeful. I take a psychodynamic approach with my clients, but also sprinkle in some coaching because I believe more can be accomplished with talking and acting. So here's your first assignment, reach out and let's see how we can make things better for you.
