Whether it’s social anxiety, panic disorder, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or something else—anxiety can feel crippling at times. My use of CBT, DBT, and E/RP interventions are all proven approaches to successfully treating symptoms of anxiety disorders. Anxiety can lead to avoidance of getting important needs met, isolation, low self-esteem, and relationship issues.
Personality disorders are often caused by some form of attachment trauma. Some people are biologically more sensitive and have been repeatedly invalidated by their environment. You may have have been told things like: “Stop being dramatic!”, “Normal people don’t react this way”, “You’re too much!”, etc. With a radically genuine and validating approach, I want to help support you in creating a life you feel is worth living.
To understand the difference between being LGBTQ+ affirmative and being “LGBT friendly” requires specialized training, which means sometimes well-intentioned clinicians can do harm by making it harder to feel seen or heard. As a queer-identified clinician, I approach every clinical setting affirmatively. Regardless of the issue(s) that brings you to therapy, having a therapist who understands and affirms your identity is vital for the progression of treatment and the therapeutic relationship.
If you decide your substance or alcohol use is a problem, I am here to help. I can provide individualized support for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction, and will work with your other treatment providers to use a team approach in providing you with the highest quality of care.
