About My Clients

Therapy requires hard work from both therapist and client in order to yield desired results. Your courage to show up and participate can allow for growth through increased awareness, mindfulness of thoughts and emotions, more effective coping skills, and stronger relationships. I help clients learn and practice skills for tolerating pain in times of crisis, responding instead of reacting, increasing self-respect, improving relationships, and participating fully in each moment.

My Background and Approach

I received my BA in Psychology from Pepperdine University and my MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University with a specialization in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Psychotherapy. In addition to LGBTQ+ Affirmative Psychotherapy, I am also formally trained in the Gestalt approach to experiential play therapy through the Violet Oaklander Foundation and in DBT through the Linehan Institute's Behavioral Tech. I trained extensively under Dr. Wallach’s mentorship, and as a part of her DBT team as a primary therapist and skills group facilitator. Prior to private practice, I gained experience working with adults and adolescents in community mental health settings, outpatient programs, and residential treatment centers. I have facilitated groups in various levels of treatment settings, and have trained at the Center for the Study of Young People at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. I am currently an active member of CAMFT and LAGPA.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I understand therapy as a collaborative process that allows trust and authenticity to foster insight and growth, exploring how the past informs the present. I cater my sessions to best fit the unique needs of each client, always meeting them with empathy and authenticity. As an affirmative therapist, I offer a safe space for exploring and understanding identity with a nonjudgmental, affirmative, warm stance. My practice provides services to clients of all ethnicities, religions, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship expansive communities. My ultimate goal is to remind clients of their own resourcefulness as we work together to create and enhance a life worth living.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
