Hey there! I am Rachel, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with experience treating a broad spectrum of issues.
Clinical Social Worker in Issaquah, WA
I began researching and employing therapeutic techniques for anxiety in graduate school. So, since 2009 I have been working hard to stay on top of and understand the latest research advances in the treatment of anxiety. I have a breadth and depth of knowledge in this area.
I took electives in graduate school around grief and loss and how to best approach and treat them as a mental health clinician. I then began working in palliative care and then Hospice (where I still work occasionally) where I had the distinct honor of working with patients, families, and caregivers around end of life issues and anticipatory grief. This work became a major passion for me and remains so at this time.
I have studied the Gottman method and spent the last 3 years really focusing on this particular treatment area. I have studied and employed an array of techniques and have found my work with individuals and couples facing relationship challenges or wanting to lay a solid relationship foundation incredibly rewarding!
I have been practicing this technique since 2010 and continue to attend ongoing trainings regarding this approach to ensure my skills remain sharp and effective.
I have been practicing since CBT since 2009 and feel adept and very skilled at employing this approach.
I have spent the last several years focusing intently on this area and learning as much as I can. I have studied various techniques and employed them with clients. Couples work has been so rewarding for me as a professional that I continue to be motivated to learn as much as I can! I have spent countless hours with couples and feel my skill set is a great fit in this area!
