About My Clients
I work with adults, couples, and on occasion adolescents. I primarily serve those struggling with a substance use disorder, individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, and people who have experienced complex trauma. Attachment, interpersonal issues, and identity, are areas I often explore with clients. My goal with those I work with is to help them reclaim their power in the midst of adversity, know their worth, and understand and accept their multifaceted selves.
My Background and Approach
My undergraduate degree is in Holistic Psychology and Sociology, with a track in Art therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge MA. I have my masters in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University. I work collaboratively with clients, with an aim to build self-trust, self-knowledge, intrinsic joy, and confidence. My work with clients is non-hierarchical; we work as a team, in the way that best suits them. My primary approach is feminist and person-centered, with tools that include internal family systems therapy, narrative therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work within an existential, socially informed, and inclusive framework. To make clients comfortable, I always ensure that they are welcomed into an inviting environment conducive to exploration. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a counselor because I am constantly in awe of the human experience. The human psyche is a powerful, dynamic, and boundless entity. I believe each person has the answers within themselves that they often seek externally. One only needs a genuine foundation of support to help facilitate their own wisdom to surface and guide them. My intention is to be that support for each person I work with. I love being a witness to the journey they took to the moment they take a seat in front of me. I love that week after week, I get the honor to hear the stories that influence and mold a person into who they are and who they will become. The personal growth of a human being can face hurdles and roadblocks but can also experience deep layers of expansion if provided with the right environment. I believe that the environment most beneficial to development and transformation is that which provides the seeker with the space to explore without shame, and with safety.
