About My Clients

I work best with LGBTQ clients, chronically ill/disabled clients, neurodivergent clients (esp. late diagnosed neurodivergence), and clients who struggle with food, body image, & rejecting/healing from diet culture. I also have experience with polyamorous & kinky clients. Many of my clients are also in geek culture or fandoms, which I wholeheartedly welcome in our therapy space.

My Background and Approach

My empathetic & client-centered approach focuses on connection. I’m here to meet you- the whole you- not just the individual aspects of your life. I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling & I pull knowledge and techniques from all over; everything from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to DBT, to Internal Family Systems, to expressive art therapy, & more. I work within a trauma-informed, minority-affirmation approach (I affirm trans/LGBTQ, neurodiversity, disability, etc.); this means I see how external oppression affects you & do not view your identity as a flaw or something pathological. I also bring Intuitive Eating/Health at Every Size & Trauma-informed care to the therapy space. I'm passionate about "character work", which is examining & exploring ourselves through the context of an established or original character. We all have trauma; trauma, while isolating, also connects us. Everyone deserves a safe space to unpack and process their trauma with a competent, empathetic guide.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone can benefit from counseling. I believe we all can grow, flourish, and heal with the right encouragement & guidance. I believe it’s okay to be where you are right now, as you are. Life isn’t a race or competition- it’s all about the journey, even if it’s hard. As a member of the LGBT community, I highly value found family and the power of shared lived experiences. I value healthy relationships and communication above all else. I value the power that comes with boundaries and wholeheartedly believe in cutting toxicity out of our lives. I am fairly active within the chronic illness, neurodivergent, and LGBT communities in both personal and professional capacities. I value learning from and growing with my communities in order to become the most effective counselor possible. I am passionate about lived experiences, their value in our lives, & the power they hold in dismantling oppression.
