About My Clients
Do you feel burned out and exhausted by "going through the motions" of everyday life? Are you floating through life, often overwhelmed, stressed, and feeling like there must be more out there? Have you recently been thinking more about who you are and what you want out of life, worried about the things that seem to get in the way? I help women in their 20s and 30s discover and honor their emotions, figure out what matters, and head in that direction.
My Background and Approach
Want to get into the nitty gritty? Here's some therapy talk: I use an individualized, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach in my work, utilizing different modalities such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing and attachment based work. I am also a bit of a brain nerd, so I use information about the brain and nervous system to discuss how those things influence our emotions and behaviors. My educational theory base is a systems-theory based approach, which I use to envision how all of the different parts of your life work together. It helps to see how things could be working differently too.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Want to know more about me? I have over a decade of experience as a social worker in the non-profit and for-profit world with a wide array of populations. I have experience assessing and treating folks who have gone through trauma, are having work-related issues, have anxiety and depression, and working with people who are trying to figure out how to be a human in the world today. I strongly believe in the power of therapy, which is why I see a therapist and encourage others to do the same. I am an active member of my local Grassroots organizing group, support the Black Lives Matter movement, and believe that every human has a right to housing and healthcare. I love being in nature, taking a drive and having a good sing/scream in the car, doodling, and hanging out on the couch with my doggo, Winston.
