Do you want to live a life that feels more authentically you? Sometimes our upbringing, past trauma, low self esteem or any number of factors can make it difficult to allow our true light to shine. It can be scary to be vulnerable; I provide an accepting and nurturing environment that allows you to move at a pace that you feel comfortable with as we work together to reach your goals.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but your sessions will be tailored to your unique needs. I have a passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community and received specialized certification in LGBT Affirmative Therapy from Southern Methodist University with a focus on working with transgender clients. I have experience in working with those wanting to explore their gender identity as well as letter writing within the state of Texas.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My background in nursing and wanting to connect with others on a deeper level is what lead me to counseling. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and hearing some of the negative experiences my transgender/ gender diverse friends had endured I was motivated to educate myself and do the work necessary to work with this special population. I do not believe in gatekeeping and I am ready and able to write letters for HRT, surgery, gender markers etc.
