About My Clients
Are you bombarded with thoughts that you’re unlovable or no good? Do you feel like you’re too far behind or a fraud? Do you lose sleep over this, becoming chronically dissatisfied while struggling to maintain moods let alone motivation? I’m here to tell you it’s ok; I know how that feels and it stinks. I help folks get over a relationship, manage their day-to-day, gain independence or overcome a loss of a loved one or a life they thought they'd have. You deserve contentment now.
My Background and Approach
In addition to being a therapist, I'm a writer, and I’m guided by the value of storytelling and how understanding our stories can help us find harmony. Your story about yourself has power. As a writer I love interviewing, and I decided to get a Master of Social Work to help others while using my writing to explore the overlap between mental health, our culture's stories, and our relationship to the earth. Although I have experience and training, I think, as Rick Rubin says, approaching the work like a beginner frees me to be more open and curious. I aim to create a calmness to foster exploration, acceptance, and healing so that you gain the tools to manage life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our stories can change; I’ve seen it in my own life as well as in the lives of the people I've worked with. I believe we're all capable of change and that you can do this, too. I’m just a compassionate helper here to listen and challenge you with respect for your dignity and worth. I'll use mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and CBT-Insomnia to help you sleep well. But before I do anything, I think it's important to build trust, which I do through hearing your story. Want to learn more? Reach out!
