About My Clients
Do you constantly worry about different things? Do you want to process a painful life event that has left you hurt and lost? It may seem like you are perfectly fine but deep inside you feel hopeless, sad and insecure. Does your child have frequent emotional outbursts? Has your child experienced a traumatizing event? If any of these questions resonate with you, I may be a good fit. I see adults, teens, and children who struggle w/ anxiety, grief, low self esteem, trauma, depression and anger.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I aim to support clients with understanding themselves more deeply, developing sustainable coping strategies, and ultimately achieving alignment between their goals, values and behaviors. In therapy, I incorporate elements of different therapeutic orientations such as solution focused, cognitive behavioral and acceptance&commitment therapy. In my sessions with children and teens, I use art, music, toys, games and nature to help children/ teens express themselves better and build appropriate coping skills. I can also provide therapy in the language Filipino.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing involves addressing different aspects of wellness such as mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and relational. I incorporate trauma informed practices in my sessions because I am aware that a history of experiencing distressing events play a huge part in how people respond in the present. I include thought restructuring in my treatment as it is very powerful in shaping a person's feelings and behaviors. I also encourage clients to identify their strengths and highlight this in our work of building coping strategies. I intuitively work from a Christian worldview but can work well with others who have different views.
