My Background and Approach
I have 20 years of experience as a therapist working with people from all walks of life. I utilize an integrative approach of evidence based interventions to help you live your best life. I am certified as a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional which means that I will use both traditional therapies as well as other therapies such as nutritional, circadian and somatic therapies to give wholistic treatment to your depression and anxiety. I am also EMDR trained and I'm a Certified Trauma Professional and can address clients who have had emotional, verbal, sexual, secondary and other traumas or abuses. I would love the opportunity to get to meet you and to help you learn the skills and gain the tools to address your concerns. AND, I will help you lean into your resilience and grow stronger so you can live a happy healthy life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that my job as a therapist is to collaborate with my clients in working towards their personal goals. I believe that you are an expert on yourself and that my job is to help guide you and teach you the skills to determine how to best live your life free of depression and anxiety. I also believe that the client has the power to determine the pace of therapy. This means that the client also has to have the motivation to do the work to get well. I believe in the sacredness of all life irrespective of gender, class, race or religion and I strive to treat my clients with the dignity that entails. I refuse to exert my power over another human being and will never attempt to force my client to go in a direction that is incompatible with who they are. I identify as a Christian and I'm open to discuss religious/spiritual issues as they pertain to my clients' treatment.
