Play Therapy provides an opportunity for children to work through their problems in a supportive and safe situation. While adults find relief in talking over their difficulties with a therapist, children are often unable to express their thoughts and feelings in words. Children communicate their thoughts and feelings through play more naturally than they do through verbal communication. Please contact me today if you feel your child could benefit from play therapy.
Work in nature enables us to use metaphor and experiencing to heal and more deeply understand ourselves. Its benefits are innumerable. I offer counseling combined with time in nature to provide you with increased benefit. We will collaboratively design a treatment plan that brings more nature into your life in ways that work for you. This can be accomplished through walk and talk therapy in the forest, sitting in a peaceful setting by the pond, or in almost any way we can imagine!
Horses are prey animals, whose survival is based on the protection given to them by being in a herd. This makes them sensitive to inconsistency, and they can feel this in people. In other words, horses can tell when our insides don’t match our outsides. This enables you to gain instant feedback on your actions, and gives us ample fodder for metaphor. Children, teenagers, college students and adults all benefit from counseling with horses.
