As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I'm passionate about providing a welcoming space where you don't have to explain yourself. We face social biases that often become ingrained in how we view and treat ourselves. While I can't fix homo- and transphobia (if only!), I can help you challenge and rewrite the negative beliefs you've internalized.
Somatic and mindfulness tools can offer tremendous relief with anxiety and panic attacks. Tapping into deep breathing or visualization exercises cue your body's relaxation response. That way you can ride out the wave of panic and land in a calm, centered state. The more you practice, the more natural this response becomes.
EMDR is one of leading treatments for PTSD and CPTSD. We'll work together to build your internal resources before delving into your trauma history. I know it feels urgent, and you want it out of the way. Starting with self-regulation skills is key and will help you effectively cope with your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in the present. Then we can move into reprocessing with confidence.
As a late diagnosed ND therapist, I can attest to the gaps in the mental health field when it comes to autism in adults. This is especially true with women and queer folks who fall outside of the narrow clinical picture. I love working with the ND community to build skills that work with your neurotype rather than against it. Unmasking, unlearning internalized ableism, reclaiming stims, and building self-compassion are central to my work with autistic/AuDHD clients
