Each person possesses a unique set of strengths and skills that we will build upon to leave you feeling confident to be the driver of your wellness. I believe that you are the best expert on yourself. My goal is to be your ally and advocate in achieving your goals. I see clients ages 18+.
My Background and Approach
I am a body-positive, Health At Every Size (HAES®) therapist specializing in using gentle nutrition and movement to support mental health. I have a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western Washington University and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology from Bastyr University. My background in the nutrition, exercise, and sports sciences allows me to have unique insights into mental health concerns that relate to those specialties. I often work with clients on eating disorders and disordered eating, body image concerns, athletic injury recovery, and living with a chronic health diagnosis. I have 9 years of experience providing support to college students and am passionate about working with this age group. I can help with the transition and adjustment to college, career counseling, and academic counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach to therapy is based in my belief in holistic wellness. Mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health are all vital aspects of wellness- when one area suffers, the others often do too. Clients often come to me after dissatisfying experiences in the medical system. I will take the time to listen and fully explore your concerns. When we consider you as a whole person rather than just a diagnosis, we can support the underlying concerns rather than masking the symptoms. We live in a fast paced society that often wants quick fixes, easy solutions, and instant perfection. We'll work together to parse out what you want versus what society tells you that you should want. My goal is to support you in creating lasting change, reaching your goals, and living a full life with strategies that actually work.
