About My Clients

I offer therapy with a focus on folks struggling with anxiety. This often looks like needing to be busy and productive to feel worthy; being stuck in an endless loop of ‘what ifs’ and fears; feeling exhausted and unable to rest; and feeling disconnected in relationships that you really care about. Through our work together you will be able to learn how to feel worthy of rest and healing; experience more moments of being present; and feeling more connected to your emotions and your relationships.

My Background and Approach

I focus on body centered approaches that provide practical tools for learning how to regulate the nervous system while creating new healthy patterns for coping with challenges. I foster an understanding between your lived experiences and the impacts of your experiences on the body, emotions and our beliefs. I offer a safe space free of judgment for you to express your feelings and needs; to process past experiences and emotions and to identify unhelpful patterns. My goal is to provide support and guidance on helping you to build new patterns that are in more alignment with your values, dreams and hopes.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have the capacity to heal and grow. I also believe that our society puts pressure on us to heal ourselves with little attention given to the oppressive systems we are embedded in that impact our well being. Racism, discrimination, the narrative of 'just get over it', lack of support for parents and caregivers, not honoring our needs to rest and grieve, and the list goes on. We are all doing the best we can to survive in difficult circumstances. The symptoms that alert us to seek therapy are often coping skills that we learned to survive when we were younger. It may not have been safe to express sadness or anger as a child. Distractions, perfectionism and being busy have worked to keep the roots of our pain out of our full awareness. And then our mental and physical health begin to suffer and the urgency to heal cannot be ignored. We can honor how these strategies helped us to survive while learning new patterns that are in alignment with our true self.
