I use mindfulness and various meditative interventions to support client's in regulating their emotions. In addition, i work from a trauma informed care incorporating safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment.

As mental health related issues are coming to a rise, research has demonstrated that during adolescence is where influential change can be developed. There are countless life stressors that occur during adolescence and navigating those barriers with compassion and skill building help can support our young people to be resilient in the face of adversities. Through Individual counseling along with Family Therapy adolescents can develop heathy relationships with loved ones.
Dealing with hyperactivity and or Inattention can interfere in daily functioning but with proper tools and resources in managing symptoms can create a much more sustainable life. Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Behavior Therapy have proven to be highly effective with managing symptoms of ADHD.
I have worked with Veterans dealing with trauma and experiencing challenges when transitioning back to the civilian life. In addition I have also worked with children and adult survivors of sexual, emotional, and physical trauma for the past two years providing crisis support and long term based therapy. I use a range of modalities as I believe that each individual comes with a unique complexity of symptoms and therefore I take pride in developing a specialized treatment approach.
There are many Cognitive Behavioral Techniques that have proven to help change thought patterns in behaviors to get a desired response. I help client's connect their thoughts to their behaviors and therefore resulting in a desired behavior. CBT has also been highly effective with issues such as anxiety, low motivation, and depression.
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is a highly recommended evidenced based approach to treat PTSD and trauma. EMDR focuses on placing attention to past distressing events and implementing reprocessing mechanisms to create new associations about disturbing memories/thoughts in order to help individual's heal and move forward.
