About My Clients
My clients are those who typically struggle to seek and find the services that fit their needs. They struggle to be seen, heard, and understood. They vary in age, gender, and orientation. They struggle with barriers that stand in the way of healing such as Culture, Mindset, Stigma, Embarrassment, Fear, Affordability, Transportation, Time, Seeking a therapist of color or one who is inclusive, lost, or just stubborn. Whether you know what you need or have no clue, therapy just might be for you.
My Background and Approach
Every day we make choices. Some of those choices are not our best choices but we make them based upon our experiences, knowledge (or lack thereof), thoughts and emotions. The mind is amazing and our thoughts have power. My goal is to help people remove the barriers that impact their ability to utilize positive thought. While we cannot always choose what happens to us and/or around us, we do have the power to choose how we think, respond, react and feel about it. Then we can make appropriate choices that will be beneficial to our wellbeing. My approach is primarily cognitive but my methods are as individual as you are. A therapeutic relationship is vital to the healing process. We need to trust each other...after all, this is your life. I want to help you live it mentally and emotionally healthy. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone can heal if they are willing, ready, and given the right tools and support. I am passionate about the African American community, Foster and Adoptive children and parents, Couples, Women, underserved communities, and fellow mental health professionals.
