About My Clients
I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults navigate anxiety, stress, depression and ADHD, build coping skills, process their inner world, build self-esteem, navigate school challenges, family conflicts, and major life changes.
My Background and Approach
Before starting at New Moon Rising Wellness, I worked as a school based contract counselor in the Nolensville and Thompson’s Station communities. I learned so much from my work with elementary, middle and high school students with a variety of issues, backgrounds and personalities. My approach is integrative, creative, and unique to each client’s personality and needs. I love getting to know clients and using their passions, strengths and talents in the therapeutic process. I am grounded in Client-Centered Therapy and draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, to best help you. I received my Masters of Science from Lipscomb University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy and Expressive Arts. Clients have described me as consistent, experienced, knowledgable, helpful, trustworthy, communicative, understanding, caring, passionate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being open to the counseling process takes courage. I’ve been in that same vulnerable position as you once, and that journey led me to becoming a counselor. I struggled with Anxiety and ADHD my entire life and through my own therapy, have learned strategies to help myself and to better love and accept myself. To me, the foundation of therapy is the relationship. I believe you are the expert of your own story and my goal is to walk alongside you in your growth. I am passionate about helping others. I have seen clients successfully navigate their challenges to live more contented, authentic lives. It is an honor to be a part of each individual’s journey, including the laughs, tears, insight and growth along the way. Outside of the therapy office, I enjoy going on adventures with my wife and our sweet rescue pup, hanging out with friends and family, going on hikes with my dad, cooking new recipes, and playing guitar.
