About My Clients

“If they really knew me, they wouldn’t love me,” your mind whispers in response to the pang of loneliness from your heart. Once again, you retreat into the safety of your self-imposed solitude, where you lose yourself in your favorite true crime podcast. You are painfully aware that the mask you wear is who they love - the carefully curated persona who could pass for the helpful and entertaining but generally forgettable mom on any sitcom. You’ve only ever wanted to keep everyone you love safe.

My Background and Approach

Waiting for your Venti Americano (black, thank you) in the Starbucks drive-thru with Winston the Chiweenie (the only partner you trust) you accidentally listened to a Taylor Swift song and realized, with horror, that it kind of resonated. “I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser”- shit, Anti–hero is hitting a nerve. Things must be bad. “I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror” - what?? It’s worse than you thought. You taught yourself how to grow up and stay safe; you didn’t have a choice. Would you have loved to have a parent who thought you were worth protecting? Worth love and support instead of constant criticism and abuse? Absolutely. But that wasn’t in the cards you were dealt, so here you are - doing your best to survive and be a better parent than what you had.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Inside so many of us adults is a kid who just wanted to be seen. A kid who just wanted to be a kid. Whose time to be naive, playful, sensitive and funny was stolen, and who is (rightfully) furious about it. Or would be if you let yourself have feelings. Instead, you engage in the never-ending quest for distraction. You spend a lot of money on filling your bookshelf and Kindle app with everything from Brene Brown to Pema Chodron, doing every yoga class you can find, and planning spa-like Caribbean excursions where you just end up sunburned and annoyed. You’ve repaired more in the house than was ever broken, and now you’re in real danger of splurging on a T Swift hoodie. But none of it has, or ever will, satisfy the hunger for deeper connection. When you're ready to start breaking these cycles, head to my website and schedule a free consultation. You can even bring Winston.
