About My Clients

Whether you are seeking help for the first time or returning to therapy, I am glad you are here! I have been working in the field for 20 years and am passionate about helping people achieve full recovery from depression, anxiety and eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). I work with people of all ages to find a sense of peace with food and their bodies, to decrease anxiety, improve mood and gain a sense of hope.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is integrative, collaborative and individualized. Research shows that an authentic and caring relationship coupled with evidence based treatments provides a strong foundation for success. I utilize treatment techniques grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and family systems perspectives and rooted in attachment theory. I work closely with other treatment providers such as dietitians, psychiatrists and primary care docs to ensure you receive the best care whether we are meeting in person or online.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have spent a lot of time in school: 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of grad school, 1 year of internship and 2 years of post-doc. My clinical training has been across a variety of settings including hospitals, residential treatment centers, schools, community mental health centers, colleges and social service agencies. I began a private practice in Maryland in 2005 and now with telehealth/online therapy I am happy to be able to work with people in more than 38 states. Go to PsyPact.org to see if you live in a participating state. I'm also available to meet in person in my Roland Park office. Life is hard, therapy is hard, but the work is worth it. It is a privilege to help my clients grow through difficult issues and I appreciate the courage, trust and perseverance it takes to be in therapy. I have had many helpers along my journey and I am happy to walk alongside you in your journey. When I'm not working I love spending time with my two daughters, husband, goldendoodle and horses!
