About My Clients
I work with adults experiencing anxiety and depression. I'm here to help no matter what the source of your suffering is. Attachment injuries, emotional or relational traumas, single event traumas, or the trauma that comes from being an outsider in a society that doesn't value diversity - these are all things that can grow into anxiety or depression. Trauma informed care is a must in psychotherapy today and I hope I can walk alongside you as you heal.
My Background and Approach
I use IFS, EMDR and Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) to help you form a deeper understanding of what inner wounds need healing, and then together, we walk the road of healing. In my own healing journey which began over 30 years ago, I have come to believe that healing all boils down to self-compassion. Unfortunately, we aren't taught how to do that on a large scale. The therapeutic approaches I practice all have the common thread of teaching people the profound power of self-compassion. IFS is my primary therapeutic approach. It's a non-shaming therapy that helps people form new relationships with themselves in a way that honors all aspects of the person. Through specific healing steps, people are able to unburden longstanding negative beliefs about themselves and experience a liberation they never knew was possible. I weave EMDR and KAP into my IFS practice when appropriate to help you experience emotional relief rapidly.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a background of being an outsider. While that was extremely painful for me as a highly sensitive young person, now in hindsight I am grateful for my experiences because they have given me a heart for helping others who are marginalized or suffering alone. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent person, I welcome all forms of neurodiversity and cultural diversity. I celebrate the experience of exploring personal authenticity and living into that authenticity. As an MFT I know that people are never a mere diagnosis. Individuals always exist within a larger system of people and relationships. Those relationships impact us tremendously. They can be a source of great suffering and also a source of great healing when we are empowered to live authentically without fear. I am an ally of LGBTQIA+ folx, and BIPOC, and I honor all vulnerable people whose voices have not yet been fully honored by our society. I'm grateful to be here and I look forward to connecting with you.
