Hi! I'm so glad you're on the search for a change.

Eating disorders are typically a symptom of something much bigger we have struggled with in our lives. Living with an eating disorder typically looks like constantly maintaining control in a world where you constantly feel out of control. You may filter "food noise" every moment of the day, whether that's counting down to the next time you eat or guilting yourself for the last thing you ate. Healing looks like control in healthy ways and freedom from the noise.
You may find it difficult to create or stay in deep relationships, constantly waiting for the next shoe to drop, or feel like you're always a moment away from snapping, wanting to run away. Trauma touches us to our core, changing how we view life, self, and others. Trauma can range from problematic family dynamics to returning home from war. You deserve to share your story and release the control that trauma may have on your quality of life.
Women are equally free and controlled by self, family, community, and society. We are free to be ourselves as long as it meets pre-set standards. We are free to speak up, as long as it's not too loud. We are free to dress how we want, as long as we are okay with the "consequences." We are free to have a career, as long as it allows us to take care of the home. I invite you to come process how society has kept you from seeing your true self and true potential.
Trauma therapy is a vague concept but allows me to work with you in the way you need. I offer image replacement therapies that can remove the "images" in our minds of past traumas. I work with you to desensitize you to the hurt and create a safe space for yourself to stay in.
There are many different parts of you that protect you, that manage internal crises, and carry the emotional damage of our past traumas. I work with you to understand your full self, create an appreciation for yourself, and work to give yourself permission to be your true self.
I don't follow DBT to the core, I believe your emotions and feelings are real. However, we may not always be in the best spot to process or feel them fully. I work to give you tools to work with those emotions until we get to a safe place to express ourselves.
