About My Clients
My passion lies in helping children with adoption history, LGBTQ+ families, and neurodiverse children find their own unique path to better mental health. As a therapist, my goal is to help you develop a stronger attunement with your own thoughts, feelings, and emotions. We live in a challenging world and, while I can't change the world, I can help you change how you and your family respond to it.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy as an integrative, collaborative process that is highly unique to each client. I am comfortable with a variety of approaches for various age groups, including but not limited to: play therapy, art therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral management, and parent-child interaction therapy. As someone with a Master of Social Work degree and a Licensed Independent Clinician Social Worker Associate credential, I also value guiding clients and families through building up their other psychosocial, medical, and natural support systems outside of the therapy space.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an LGBTQ+ identifying person who has a deep passion for intersectional representation and respect in all spaces. I have lived experience as a person with a chronic illness that fluctuates in severity and do my best to be mindful of the complex medical and psychomotor needs of others in Telehealth and in-person office spaces. While I do my best to seek consistent research and training on how to be as culturally sensitive as possible, I acknowledge that I experience a level of privilege as a White/Caucasian person that I must maintain awareness of in my practice.
