I work with clients to formulate an understanding and plan of action related to symptoms. First, we identify what the main symptoms are (paranoia, sweating, irritability, etc.). Next, we locate the trigger points that bring about these reactions. Finally, we trace back the origins of these triggers to the past. In learning about past experiences, a client is able to distance themselves from the trigger as a part of them, and began to see anxiety as an external force.
Navigating the body conscious world we live in can be difficult and disheartening. Fears, concerns, and struggles with body image can be shared and discussed in a safe therapeutic environment. Fostering self-compassion and positive self-talk can be achieved through our work together.
Depression can feel all-consuming and unbearable. In our work together, we identify the experiences and events that have exacerbated the feelings. Engaging in therapy as a way to explore, repair, and cope with these feelings allows one to continue life with a fresh and invigorated lens.
