About My Clients

I work with people, particularly queer and trans folks in healing oppression-based trauma, religious trauma, and transgenerational trauma through an intersectional framework. I love working with adults across life stages and am particularly drawn to working with folks in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. I am also drawn to working with folks in the areas of grief and loss, relationships and intimacy, body liberation and body distress, and transforming the inner critic.

My Background and Approach

While healing isn’t linear, there is some structure to my approach that I conceptualize as building a home. My initial goal is to build a foundation of trust and mutual understanding with you, which then makes room for us to explore the nuances of your experiences and challenges while noticing patterns. Building your coping toolbox is like scaffolding; it provides structure and support for you both in and outside of session. With the scaffolding in place and a strong foundation, we work to make meaning, address self-blame and internalized oppression, and build self-understanding and compassion. In tandem with this, we work together on fostering community, engaging in collective healing, and strengthening relationships. To conclude our work together, we focus on learning how to lovingly steer your life with strength and tenderness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

No person is disposable and shame will never liberate us or our communities. I center curiosity, gentleness, justice, and liberation and honor pleasure and rest in my work with clients. I am passionate about queer liberation and working with folks anywhere on their journey with flexibility and wholeheartedness. I hold the social work code of ethics near and dear to my work and am always striving to approach the work with cultural humility and active anti-oppressive frameworks. I encourage you to share feedback with me frequently and I aim to always be transparent, address when I misstep, and never be afraid to say, “I don’t know.” As a white person in this work and living in a white supremacist society, it is my responsibility to actively engage with my internalized racism and commit to ongoing learning and accountability in and outside of the therapy room.
