Used as an intervention for trauma, chronic pain, panic attacks, and reprocessing disturbing events.
Reframing thoughts. Recognizing and diffusing faulty thinking and beliefs. Also an intervention used with mindfulness (be here now). Thoughts, beliefs, and feelings can direct behavior. These variables can also add to dysregulated emotions and distress tolerance.
Emotions can override logic. Thoughts are just thoughts. Recognizing a thought and not allowing it to disrupt your purpose helps you practice emotional regulation. Diffusing thoughts using, “I notice I’m having a thought.” Accepting where you have control and where you are not in control are ACT interventions. DBT interventions, to work through distress tolerance, such as mindfulness 🧘🏿♀️ work well with all emotional driven issues
