About My Clients
What are you trying to deal with on your own right now? A new life chapter? College? Self-esteem? A break-up? Discouraged from your ever-growing to-do list? Overwhelmed with too many choices? Do you often doubt your intuition and decisions? It is an honor to be a part of anyone's healing, but I find I work extra well with young adults, college students, women learning boundaries, those questioning social norms, and those with emerging bipolar symptoms. Sliding scale fee available.
My Background and Approach
In my pre-therapy days, I worked in foster care homes, group homes, community health clinics, and in client's homes providing ARMHS. Since then, I've been providing therapy in client's homes or in-office since 2018. After procrastinating on writing my Master's thesis for almost a year, I used my time in lockdown to complete it and graduate with my MA in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy in 2020. I don't think I'm the expert in the room; You bring invaluable information to our sessions that will be centered in your healing. I don't think your distress is a disorder; We were not meant to live in this hyper-capitalist, hyper-individualistic kind of world. You are responding normally to an abnormal environment that our nervous systems haven't caught up to yet. I specialize in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a trauma modality that can also be used for just about anything: social anxiety, fear of public speaking, wanting to quit smoking, anything distressing your mind or body.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am cis-gendered Mexican-American woman. I moved to Minnesota in 2015 during what I call my "quarter-life crisis." There is no one way to experience existence and identity, and I am here to witness your unique experience. I don't know if I believe that it's possible to be culturally competent in a culture you have not lived, but I do promise to always be curious about your experience and doing my own learning.
