About My Clients
I noticed the gap in holistic mental health care, especially when working with more vulnerable populations including people of color. I specialize in people who are caregivers, women, people of color, and family members of the aging population who may be diagnosed with dementia. Now that I am learning from Dr. Blythe at the practice, she is helping me expand my abilities to help birthing people and related perinatal care.
My Background and Approach
My approach to the therapist-client approach is egalitarian. I always tailor my approach to my clients and their presenting issue. Generally, I take skills and tools from a variety of therapeutic approaches to create my own approach that I believe can be beneficial to my clients to help them build their own therapeutic toolkit that they can use beyond therapeutic interventions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve worked in a variety of spaces with vulnerable populations who are at increased risk of having mental health and wellness concerns including people of color, rural, urban, criminal-legal system, neurocognitive patients and families, women, and children with learning disabilities. I am a strong advocate for preventative measures and I am also involved with NAMI TX in advocating for people living with mental illness.
