About My Clients
Tina can help individuals experiencing a wide array of mental health conditions and emotional challenges. Tina can also help not only alleviate symptoms, but also with her training, help identify the psychological root causes of one’s condition so clients can function better and have enhanced emotional well-being and healing. She provides empathy and a nonjudgemental and safe space. She is certified in Grief and Loss, Trauma, Anger Management and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My Background and Approach
Tina graduated from Clark Atlanta University and has clinical experience supervising staff and working with men, women and children who have experienced mental health issues, trauma, substance and alcohol abuse, legal system, educational barriers, homelessness and health disparities. She also had the opportunity to work as a lead social worker at a well known outpatient behavioral health clinic in Washington, DC who partnered with Dartmouth College's Psychiatric Research Center and the West Family and helped to design, supervise and implement evidence-based research on substance abuse, mental health and trauma. Tina now focuses her time working as a school social worker and providing part-time therapy to clients who are/have experienced trauma, domestic violence, grief and loss, substance and alcohol use, depression and anxiety. She has a particular passion working with African-American males and the elderly and knows the importance of stopping trans-generational cycles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Tina has a strong belief for students who are in special education, have learning disabilities, mental health diagnosis and other school classifications and advocates to ensure that they get an appropriate education. Tina also enjoys working with individuals and families who have limited resources and believe that all lives matters.
