About My Clients
Through my practice, I want to eliminate the mental health disparities that keep women in the Black and Brown communities from seeking help and having to access mental health services. I want to continue to help women strike a healthy balance between catering to their and their children’s needs and dispelling the myths and judgment that come with perinatal and postpartum depression and the struggles of motherhood.
My Background and Approach
I am EMDR-trained therapist and the owner of Women’s Wellness Center Virginia. To say that I’m one of the biggest champions of women, especially expectant, new & seasoned moms, is an understatement. In 2013, as a healthy start clinician at a local community mental health center, I began providing psychosocial support and counseling to perinatal women battling substance abuse. I’ve been in this field for two decades and in practice for almost ten years, working with professional and everyday women to manage the stresses that come with pregnancy and motherhood. My practice is exclusively virtual, giving women the convenience of seeking mental health within the confines that fit their lifestyle. I’m licensed to practice in Virginia and Florida. When it comes to treating anxiety and depression in perinatal women, there’s not a one-size fit course of action. Therefore, in addition to EMDR therapy, we offer cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and EFT and tapping.
