About My Clients
Are you a BIPOC individual, perhaps experiencing cultural or religious trauma and searching to be true to yourself? Are you facing difficulties with acculturating and honoring your traditions? Or maybe you are neurodivergent and have experienced ableism and struggles in a neurotypical environment? Are you a teen who is struggling with any of the above or just in general trying to find your place in this world? I am here for you!
My Background and Approach
First and foremost, the relationship that we create and will have together is crucial in having therapy work for you. If there is no trust in this relationship, then we are not going to get much done in the therapy room. I use myself as someone who will get to know you, and believe that the therapy space is telling of how you are out in the world. I will let you know what I see in a caring and therapeutic manner and we will discuss together how that serves, or doesn't serve you. I will not give you advice on how to live your life. That's up to you! I will, however, point things out as we work together and we will discuss how useful it is. While I don't believe therapy is a cure-all for life, I do believe it is a powerful tool to build awareness and make change. You will find a culturally-sensitive, non-judgmental, and safe space in my therapy room.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As someone who is first-generation, first in her family to graduate from college, live abroad, etc, I know what it is like to live outside the norm and stick out a bit. I also know a little about life's struggles during crucial developmental stages. I am accepting of all cultures and backgrounds and will honor your beliefs and values.
