About My Clients
Everyone else has it all figured out: school, jobs, relationships, everything. Meanwhile, you feel behind and like a total mess, *scrolling through social media looking at everyone else's perfect lives* and feeling anxious and depressed about your own. No one understands what you've been struggling with, and that childhood trauma or lingering grief is still very much there. I get it. I've been there. I'll help you learn to cope, build confidence and make that change you want to see in your life.
My Background and Approach
As a social worker, I’ve spent over a decade seeing people at the lowest points of their lives, having suffered child abuse, violent relationships, depression & anxiety, drug addiction, and other hardships. I learned that so many of us feel alone, stuck, and misunderstood. I learned that most of us just want to feel comfortable in who we are, and know someone is out there that just "gets it." Creating a space where people can tell their stories and feel heard, I'm honored to say that I've been a part of people's stories in rising to their absolute best, with no turning back.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All of us feel lost and connected sometimes, because we live in a world where social injustice is so painfully obvious to some, and willfully denied by others. I became a therapist so I could work towards social change in a way that was personal. I wanted to be that person that my client's could feel really understands them, and gets how racism, homophobia, misogyny, transphobia and other forms of social in equity truly do impact mental health, and are often at the core of the hardships we suffer. It can be hard to talk to family and friends about this kind of stuff, which is why I'll make as much space as you need to work through it all.
