About My Clients
I specialize in supporting individuals in their grief (the loss of a child/loved one, loss of a part of themselves), parents/caregivers navigating the profound challenges of a child's cancer diagnosis or chronic illness, supporting healthcare workers with moral distress in their work, managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
Prior to becoming a therapist, I have worked in children's hospitals as an oncology social worker and a palliative care social worker. In these roles, I found that families (and medical providers) needed both someone who understood the unique medical piece of their experience and someone who could hold the complicated emotions that come with those experiences. My passion for helping parents/caregivers through some of the most challenging days of their lives has led me to move into individual therapy. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to your individual needs, including concepts from ACT, Motivational Interviewing, somatic processing and narrative therapy. My goal is to help you navigate your grief and other challenges with compassion and strength, fostering a sense of peace and understanding along the way.
My Values as a Therapist
As a human and a therapist, I value warmth, humor and transparency. I bring my full, authentic self to each session and believe in the power of relationships in healing. I believe in building relationships with my clients that is non-hierarchal to offset the power imbalance that can occur during therapy. This means that I hope to learn from you as another human being as well as impart my own knowledge in our sessions.
