My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel valued and understood. In individual therapy, I focus on helping clients build self-esteem, address depression, and explore identity issues through evidence-based techniques and compassionate dialogue. For couples, I work on enhancing communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering deeper connections, using methods that promote mutual understanding and growth. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you don't have to be miserable. I think there is a misconception about mental illness in regards to it being something we are just stuck with and have to learn to manage but I challenge that perspective. I think coping skills are great and an important tool to have but coping skills are symptoms of underlying issues that need to be addressed in order to alleviate anxiety, depression, self-depracating thoughts, and many other issues. I value therapy and believe it is a vital step for many people to live and enjoy their life. Therapy should be an emotionally safe place to be you. It's where you can experience the emotions and explore past events and how they've impacted who you are today. My personal belief is that therapy is not to make you dependent on your therapist but to help you become aware, empowered, and more knowledgeable in how to manage your symptoms, address your issues, and create the life that you want.
