About My Clients

My clients are curious about themselves and motivated to improve their quality of life. People often seek therapy with a specific problem in mind, however, most presenting problems are the aftermath of how one’s past has manifested into their present. Through exploring the significant and routine aspects of your past and present self, we will learn who you are and how you would like to make positive changes in your life.

My Background and Approach

My areas of focus include working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, trauma, challenging family dynamics, and interpersonal relationships. I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable and supported as we work together to understand your patterns and find ways to move forward. I offer feedback and ask plenty of questions with the intention of furthering our understanding of who you are. I believe that, because therapy is a dynamic process, it requires creativity and adaptability. So, while I primarily use a psychodynamic approach, I frequently incorporate other therapeutic styles, such as CBT, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), in a way that will continue to enrich our work. Although I am out-of-network with all insurances except for Healthfirst, I do support clients in submitting and handling insurance claims.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many people often experience similar life events and stressors, but, while the event itself is objective, your interpretation of that event is subjective. It is those interpretations that lead to your story, a story that has shaped who you are today. However, stories can always be revised; you have the power to change your self-perception with a change in narrative. I believe that a crucial part of understanding your vantage point is taking the time to learn the nuances. From talking about your family of origin to a recent argument with a friend, partner, or coworker, I want to hear it! My goal is to empower you to create a life for yourself that you feel proud of. I would be honored to join you while you rewrite your story and create the groundwork for a fulfilling future.
