About My Clients
You don't like your current state. You don't like your mood swings, you don't like your insecurity, you don't like that you feel stuck both physically and emotionally now in this pandemic. The world is changing so rapidly and everything is different. You know you're not the only one who's struggling and you want to be more positive, yet it still feels like you're the only one who’s out of place, left behind, and failing. You want to stop feeling this way, you want to change.
My Background and Approach
My therapy approach is existential therapy with focuses on strength, connection, mindfulness and choices. I believe that humans exist with conditions such as anxiety and therapy is a liberating and empowering process to know yourself, be yourself and find meaning. One of my goals as a therapist is to tailor therapy to your needs. Since I believe that therapy is an individualized experience, I also borrow tools and concepts from other therapy approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. What therapy looks like with me is we would first get to know each other and co-create an environment where you feel safe and comfortable to share and explore. We will talk about your needs, goals, and how you want to be supported and helped. Then, we will utilize creative tools, such as art, experiments, mindfulness exercises, and games to explore your self-expression and make your own coping tool kit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Self-expression as a way to see yourself: I believe that every individual has his or her own style of communicating to self and others. Sometimes we talk and sometimes we express ourselves through other channels, such as writing, choosing, and creating. Through exploring your own languages and words, we can help you better converse with yourself and others. Meaning is the anchor and the lighthouse: We all had an overwhelming year in 2020. We experienced so many losses — loss of people, relationships, jobs, money, freedoms, places to go. We are losing the sense of security, the sense of purpose, and the focus of life. This is why finding your own meaning in everyday’s life is more important than ever. Through continuous exploration of meanings, you will be able to navigate through the chaos and ground yourself in your journey.
