About My Clients

My work centers on adults who are grappling with stressors around life transitions, self-esteem, relationships, identity, depression, and anxiety. Folks I work with often are feeling overwhelmed, drained, are experiencing self-doubt and in need of support.

My Background and Approach

Grappling with emotional struggles during one's lifetime is a common experience but can often feel isolating and overwhelming. Our efforts in therapy will be centered on your goals and on working towards them in a proactive way while also integrating self-acceptance, self-understanding and compassion. I am committed to providing a supportive, warm, and nonjudgmental space in therapy. I also work from the understanding that people's stories do not exist in isolation from the contexts in which they are embedded. Depending on your needs, I use a psychodynamic-interpersonal framework (given the emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and on attachment) while flexibly integrating different evidence based treatment modalities, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. Generally people are having understandable reactions to tough situations. I hope to create a space in which you feel supported as you navigate this leg of your journey.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I decided to study psychology because I believe that we all need someone to lean on sometimes. And in numerous ways I have learned that at times it is necessary to seek support outside of oneself. Therapy can provide folks with the necessary scaffolding, emotional stability and tools to move forward and thrive. During my doctoral training in the Bay Area, I worked with patients who differed in terms of acculturation, gender identity, age, language ability, national origin, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and religious beliefs. Understanding that each person is a complex individual with intersecting identities of their own, I approach my work with the knowledge that each person I work with is as an expert on their experience. In therapy, I work to center the resiliency of individuals who occupy multiple spaces and consciousnesses. Side notes about me: I enjoy drinking chai, swimming, reading, and taking pottery classes.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
