Every relationship comes with its fair share of issues. Navigating the complexities of life together is hard enough, but when you start to feel regularly distressed or hopeless, about your relationship, it may be time to seek professional help. No matter what your issues seem to stem from (disagreements about money, sex, stress, chronic illness, mental illness, infidelity, trust, emotional distance, parenting etc.), if you and your partner are arguing more frequently and experiencing feelings of resentment or contempt, it is likely that there are some underlying problems to address. Because many problems in relationships are a result of communication issues, a qualified mental health therapist can teach you to find new ways of talking to each other to help you find your way back to common ground. Are you a someone who has a lot of strengths but keeps hitting a wall? Many of those I work with have difficulty recognizing and articulating their emotions, which can lead to difficulty making decisions, asserting their needs, or setting healthy boundaries. They may feel disconnected from themselves and others, as if they are not fully present, leading to problems in their relationships and even with themselves. Does any of this sound familiar?

I work with couples to develop good communication, enhance intimacy, and work through issues that are preventing them from moving forward in their relationship. It can be easy to be stuck in patterns that don't work, especially if there is history involved. My passion is also working with people who are pregnant, trying to conceive, postpartum, or struggling with infertility and miscarriages. Anxiety and depression can often go hand in hand with these issues along with some disordered eating.

I work with a variety of adults individually and in relationships who present with issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I like to work with young people in their twenties, , musicians, academics, rural residents, and children/grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. I am a sex positive therapist who is LGBT and polyamory friendly.

My clients tend to be individuals who struggle to advocate for themselves in relationships- whether they be work, romantic, familial or friendly. They tend to put other people's feelings before their own. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, or both. I work with a lot of people who experienced emotional neglect in childhood, and/or self centered parents, and/or very oppressive home environments.

You get home from work and had every intention to cook dinner and go for a walk but you're exhausted so you end up on the couch scrolling. And then you stay up too late, trying to gain back some precious hours for yourself, you've been giving to everyone else all day, you deserve it! But then, it all starts over again. Exhausted in the morning. Over committed, saying yes to things you don't want to do, not feeling nourished by your relationships. You're ready for a change.
