I specialize in working with Black women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and children facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My ideal clients are ready to heal, grow, and explore their strengths in a safe, judgment-free space. Together, we'll work toward empowerment, balance, and self-discovery.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Calling all women who feel dismissed, overlooked, or rejected by your family. Every time you talk with them you end up feeling worse. The loneliness is real. You don’t feel seen even when you’re surrounded by family and friends. You feel obligated to meet everyone’s wants and needs, but it feels like no matter what you do it’s never enough or there’s no time for you. You don’t have to be exhausted and frustrated. Our work will help you embrace who you really are and discover who you want to be.
I don't really have a particular population I focus on. I want to work with everybody! That said, I have a great deal of experience with adults with persistent and severe mental illness, adolescents with oppositional and defiant behavior, and clients seeking help from their local psychiatrist. I start every session with "Tell me what's going on with you. What can I do to help?" Then we go from there. I end every session with "Was that helpful?" I haven't heard "No" yet.
Often, life's deepest moments are intertwined with the relationships we form; and some of life's biggest struggles result from barriers to those connections. Whether it's trauma, anger management, codependence, isolation, suicidality or something else - you and I can tackle it together. Facing challenges in the safe container of the therapeutic environment helps build resilience to face whatever life tosses your way.
Are you striving to find satisfaction with your work, life or relationships? Have you been struggling to meet what society believes a “real man” is supposed to be? Do you want to focus on fixing immediate problems rather than unraveling past hurts? Do you prefer to work with a therapist who can relate to your challenges? I get where you’re coming from, and I’m here to help.
