Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
*I am a sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, polyamory-friendly and kink aware therapist. My approach to therapy is fundamentally collaborative and affirming. I am here to meet you where you're at so we can make steps down your personal path together. I want to help you to better understand your own feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and means of coping to move you toward feeling more like your authentic self.

Whether your struggle is anxiety, depression, grief or a difficult life adjustment, I recognize that human nature is to resist our experience, rely on unhelpful patterns and create cycles of shame. Clients can expect a compassionate and reflective experience to explore your present experience with your struggles to help step out of the patterns through acceptance.
I provide for a collaborative structure, plan and goals that allow clients to see progress every week. I provide resources, homework, and education to my clients to help them in the process of self-discovery and addressing relationship issues. I help clients to find solutions to solvable problems and develop coping skills to address issues that are harder to solve.
You find it hard to slow the racing thoughts. Feelings of guilt, shame, or not being good enough are getting harder to fight. You feel like you can explode at any minute. This is not the person that you used to be and you're having a hard time figuring out what to do or how to get through this.
You may be here because there is pain in your life that you haven't been able to change. This may stem from uncertainty about a relationship, difficulty navigating family of origin issues, or ongoing patterns of choosing short-term "band-aids" (i.e., social media, TV, substances, isolating) rather than engaging in activities that would nourish your mind and body. You've likely tried common sense strategies to navigate these issues on your own and are feeling stuck.
Our clients range in age from 6-60, each having a unique set of experiences and needs which lead them to seek individual and/ or couples therapy. Our clients are often focused on learning skills to improve emotional functioning, process past and current trauma, and looking for a safe space to explore opportunities for personal growth. Lotus of Life's mission is to support individuals on the path to overall mental health and wellness.
