Your brain has done an excellent job keeping you safe through so many things. Now the same thoughts and behaviors that kept you safe are no longer doing you much service. Let’s take some time to find those things, honor them, and replace them with new strategies. Family discord, medical illnesses, discrimination, undiagnosed anxiety/adhd, toxic work environments, and the like can all add up to have similar impacts as bigger traumas, especially when dealing with more than one simultaneously.
