It is important that we all feel seen and heard; we need that more than ever before. We need spaces created for us to heal wounds developed from adverse and traumatic experiences. We need room to acknowledge and address our pain. We need opportunity for self—self-reflection and expression. Leavell Counseling, LLC is committed to providing quality counseling services to individuals desiring more—more growth and more change. I look forward to supporting you in your process of growth and change.

I work with adults and couples on all kinds of issues and frequently treat issues related to attachment, identity, and trauma (ie intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, ptsd, etc). I often work with clients who have symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, depression, or high stress. I enjoy working with fellow members of the queer community and have a passion for providing an affirming, inclusive space for historically marginalized groups including, but not limited to BIPOC, interracial couples, and women.
It's my opinion (and research supports this) that building supportive spaces where individuals can explore their authentic selves and change unhelpful patterns is the most effective way to do therapy. I support the well-being of adults and adolescents experiencing overwhelming emotions, challenging histories, and complex mental health problems. All too often we trade expressing our genuine selves for safety, which can lead to blame, resentment, anxiety, and inexplicable grief.
Life can sometimes feel like a puzzle, and understanding yourself can be one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of the journey. If you’re seeking to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, individual therapy can be a powerful tool leading to greater fulfillment and happiness. Let's explore your inner world and make meaningful changes in your life.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Do you have trouble understanding what you’re feeling, or why you’re feeling it? Maybe you often ask “does that make sense?”, unsure whether your thoughts are coming across how you want them to. Or you find that you're really hard on yourself, with a running narrative of “I’m the worst!”. Perhaps you’re scared to get things wrong, and feel unable to trust yourself to know what you want, let alone how to get there. If you relate to this and want to feel less anxious and more at ease, I can help!
Are you feeling overwhelmed, struggling to focus, frequently prioritizing others over yourself, lacking confidence, or often comparing yourself to others? These issues can significantly affect your self-esteem and self-worth, potentially leading to heightened anxiety or depression. I specialize in helping individuals who are dealing with perfectionism and related challenges.
