DBT is a skills-based approach that focuses on helping people increase their emotional and cognitive control by learning the triggers that lead to unwanted behaviors. Once triggers are identified, DBT teaches coping skills that include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. People come to see me when they have trouble in their relationships. They feel anxious or as if they have to walk on eggshells around those they love out of fear of losing them. While I welcome and support all clients, I specialize in serving folx who identify as gender, sexuality, and relationship diverse (GSRD).
