Does it sometimes feel like you’re trying to pour from any empty cup? Do you find it difficult to control your worry, or haven’t been feeling like your normal self? I specialize in working with stressed college students who want to learn how to manage anxiety and tame overwhelming emotions, people who want to explore gender identity or who need support on their transition journey, and geeks of all kinds.
I work with adults of all ages looking to exist more fully as themselves. I am especially passionate about and driven to provide space for LGBTQIA+ adults exploring identity, adjustments, and changes. Clients I love holding space for are the ones feeling stuck and curious about understanding more of what has gotten, and continues to get, in the way of living the life they want to be living. My clients may have experienced traumatic events that shape the way they see themselves and the world.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
I specialize in couples work, helping partners to find their way back to each other. If conversations with your partner seem to go in circles, and you have the same argument endlessly, I imagine you're feeling frustrated to say the least, maybe even despairing and panicked. You're wondering "are we going to make it?" Therapy offers a safe opportunity to slow it all down and to learn more about your emotions and clarify your needs. Together, we work to rebuild closeness, security and confidence.

The climate crisis is having an impact on human mental health and emotional wellbeing. You might be addressing it head-on in your work or activism, or maybe you're feeling the personal effects of it. Perhaps you're stressed about how to relate to family members about climate change, or feeling worried about how your life is being, or will be, affected. There are all kinds of ways we're emotionally affected by climate change. Climate-aware therapy can help.
Many of my clients have no previous experience in therapy. Others have had limited, often negative, experiences. Most hold one of more of the following identities: they are men, they are second-generation immigrants and/or they are queer. They might not have seen themselves represented well in mental health spaces. They also might not have been taught how to express their feelings openly and may view their emotions as a weakness and as something to fear.

I enjoy working with gender and sexually diverse folks, clients who have experienced interpersonal violence, homelessness, HIV+. I am most useful working with folks struggling with gender/sexuality, substance use, Dual Disorders, life transitions, trauma, Anxiety and disordered eating We would be a good fit if you are ready to put in the hard work to heal yourself.
