I specialize in working with Latinos and other people of color (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) who are working hard, often living and working in White-dominated spaces. Each of my clients has unique struggles and histories that they want to address and finally get past, on their way to the life they're working so hard to create.
Happy Apple® welcomes psychotherapy & coaching clients of all backgrounds and cultures. Most commonly our clients come to us for the treatment of anxiety, depression, couples counseling, trauma, LGBTQIA+ support, identity questions, grief, and life transitions. We work with individuals, families, couples, and also offer support groups. Some clients seek therapy to alleviate acute suffering while others aim to make relatively minor, yet rewarding, adjustments such as elevated self-worth.
As a Chicana (bilingual and bicultural) my aim is to privilege cultural contexts in individual therapy and neuropsych assessments as well as to promote more effective strategies for change. Neuropsychological evaluations consider and assess the relationship between brain and behavior as well as the emotional sequelae of neurological disorders. I work with black, indigenous, and other people of color who struggle with intergenerational/historical trauma in their relationships and everyday life.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
You're tired of being stuck in the same unhelpful patterns. Anxiety affects everything - your work, your relationships, your self-confidence. You feel like you're "too much" or "too sensitive" for everyone in your life. I can help. I work with women who are ready to get unstuck from unhelpful patterns, heal long-held anxiety and trauma, and show up authentically and unapologetically.

Are you hearing voices, music, or sounds that other people cannot hear? Do you see visions, flashes, blinding light or geometric figures? Do you have feelings on or just beneath your skin like bugs crawling? Or any other unusual perceptual experiences? Are you experiencing intense fears that others may be watching or talking about you, or that people in your life are not loyal or trustworthy? Is this causing you intense anxiety, depression, or interfering with achieving your goals?
Sometimes life is really hard and we need a space to express our thoughts, feelings and experiences that continue to hurt today. Possibly you have experienced a trauma or stressful event that still impacts you. You may be depressed, anxious or are having problems in your relationships or at work. Perhaps you are struggling with managing your stress and know that something needs to change but you aren’t sure what steps to take. Therapy is a safe place to learn new strategies to heal.
