Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.

I work primarily with persons with a history of sexual assault and other traumas. Their issues are pervasive and complex, experiencing an array of symptoms and potential triggers such as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, enuresis, sleep disturbance, anger, panic attacks, and more. These clients want to navigate life without fear and regain a sense of purpose and safety. Often, they want to find the will to live and quiet suicidal thoughts.

I hope to serve those seeking to strengthen their connection with themselves and those around them by empowering their authentic identity. The stressors of everyday life can become overwhelming with the uncertainty of tomorrow. We quickly become filled with anxiety when feeling unprepared for these uncertainties. With our bodies designed for survival, symptoms of anxiety become easily integrated into our daily life, creating the cognitive distortion that life is bleak and unfulfilling.

I specialize in supporting individuals facing challenges related to maternal mental health, parenting, postpartum depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and Previvors. Throughout my experience, I’ve observed that these populations often share a deep desire to be seen, understood, and heard. Many feel different and long for genuine empathy and connection. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where my clients can freely express themselves and feel truly valued for who they are.

Many of my clients are high-achieving, bi-coastal creatives and professionals. I work with talent in entertainment, music, art, philosophy, writing, medicine, tech, law, and psychology. I help clients address challenges in juggling their well-being with their expectations, roles at home/work, responsibilities, deadlines, relationships, creative flow, and past experiences. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that each client brings their own set of experiences, perspectives, and challenges to the therapeutic process. I believe that our childhood experiences shape our beliefs, behaviors, and relationships in profound ways. By creating a welcoming and non-judgmental space, I hope to empower my clients to explore and process their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that each person possesses an innate capacity for healing and self-awareness.
