Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I Recognize and respect the cultural backgrounds and identities of my clients. This includes understanding cultural stigmas around mental health and addressing them sensitively. I Conduct thorough assessments to understand the full scope of my clients' mental health issues, including any co-occurring conditions. My goal is to develop individualized care plans that cater to each client's specific needs and preferences. I am flexible and open to adjusting plans as needed.
Hey, I'm Alex! I'm a solution focused and goal oriented therapist. I work with clients to create change by not only providing empathy, validation, and encouragement, but challenging them (in supportive way) as well. I work with young adults and millennials who are struggling with transitions like school changes, becoming a new parent, or switching jobs. As a mom of young kids, I have first hand experience with these adjustments as well.
I know what it's like to feel broken, like counseling just doesn't work for you. I felt frustrated with the experience of talk therapy, having some progress but digressing again. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced chronic disconnection in their lives, helping them understand what is actually going on in their brains and bodies when they are defensive, anxious, depressed, emotionally dysregulated, etc. Through understanding and "bottom-up" approaches we can get unstuck.
Do you feel alone in your relationship? Are your arguments on repeat? Maybe you find yourself in a place that’s “just fine,” but resentment builds with each misunderstanding. My compassionate and straightforward style helps couples collaborate to focus on solutions and re-ignite passion in the relationship. Every personal connection is unique and complex; I’m here to come alongside couples as they learn to truly understand each other.
