I specialize in depression, anxiety and addiction, specifically alcohol abuse. I enjoy working with both individuals, as well as couples, to identify problem(s), set goals, and create a plan to collaboratively meet these goals. Through education and support I make space for clients to learn, grow and flourish. I strive to encourage individuals to expand the capacity to which they understand themselves in order to enhance control over their mental health.
Our clients have often tried "traditional" talk therapy and haven't felt seen, heard, or helped. We believe our clients already have the inner strength and resources to heal themselves and our goal is to help guide them through this process to promote change and healing. Trauma therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach, therefore we treat each client as unique as they are. Together we will work to overcome obstacles and challenges that you are currently experiencing or have experienced.
Sometimes thoughts, memories, and moods are causing us distress. Often, when we try to express these to others, we are left feeling more confused about what we are feeling or misunderstood afterward. Sometimes words fail us, and we cannot find the right way to express ourselves and feel stuck. No one should have to face what they're going through alone. I am here to support you on your journey. I am sure I will learn just as much from you as you will from me along the way.
Andrea possesses a strong passion for addressing Trauma and PTSD, Career Counseling, Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem/Personal Growth, Life Transitions/Adjustment, Relationship Conflict, Multicultural Issues, Religion and Spirituality, Self-harm, Suicidal Ideation, and Bipolar/Mood Disorders.

You ever wonder why you hold on to things so much that it interferes with having a life full of potential? Do you worry about where your life is going that you don't see your purpose? Do you feel that everyone has told you to slow down on your drinking and may be worried that you have a problem? I understand the feeling that you are not living to your full potential because you spend too much time with the trivial and have not focused on the things that give your life meaning.
I specialize in working with adults and teens in the LGBTQ+ community, but I am here to support you whether or not sexuality and/or gender are your primary reasons for seeking therapy. Together, we can work through a variety of experiences like anxiety, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem related issues, faith transitions, and navigating relationships with significant people in your life. I utilize a Jungian, psycho-analytic framework, alongside parts-based work, and a social justice lens.
I believe one of the most healing things we can do is understand our stories and how it affects our everyday life and relationships. These experiences can manifest in different ways such as anxiety, emotional numbness, or relationship challenges. The clients I work with have oftentimes experienced complex relational traumas in childhood and dysfunctional family dynamics. Through these difficult experiences, we develop coping strategies and protective behaviors, which may no longer be serving you
I’m affirming of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures. My approach is collaborative and flexible. We’ll work together to help you articulate your needs and craft a plan for meeting them. I’ll provide practical tools for immediate relief and help you gain insight to support lasting change.

Are you afraid that your proclivities towards kink or polyamory/ethical non-monogamy are due to trauma? I would almost certainly disagree. Are you afraid that if you see a therapist for your trauma they'll attribute your kinkiness or poly-ness to that trauma? I won't. Ever. Imagine a life without anxiety, inexplicable anger, deep sadness, or panic attacks. You're feeling like there must be a better way to live; I can help you find it.
My specialties include motivational interviewing, mindfulness, sleep hygiene, cultural humility, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and consensual non-monogamy/sex-positive awareness. I am also a National Coalition for Sexual Freedom Kink Aware Professional. *** My availability is currently limited, but you are encouraged to contact me to discuss scheduling an intake and/or waitlist placement. ***
